Scholarship terms and conditions

Eligibility

  • Applicants must be a registered health professional in Australia, (General Practitioners, Nurse Practitioners, Registered Nurses, Midwives) with current AHPRA registration.
  • Applicants must meet the prerequisites of the selected training program and be working within a scope of practice that includes, or intends to include, contraceptive services.
  • Applicants must not have previously received a similar LARC training scholarship.
  • Applicants must demonstrate commitment to incorporating LARC services into routine clinical practice.

Application and selection

  • All applications must be submitted via the SRHA website.
  • Scholarships are assessed by the relevant State/Territory Sexual and Reproductive Health Organisation using a nationally consistent weighting criterion.
  • Applicants will be notified of outcomes within 6 weeks of application.
  • The decision of the selection panel is final.

Conditions of acceptance

Successful applicants must:

  • Undertake training through an approved provider within the agreed timeframe.
  • Begin providing LARC services within 3 months of completing training, consistent with their scope of practice.
  • Commit to providing LARC services for at least 12 months, where possible.
  • Participate in peer support and/or mentoring where appropriate.
  • This training is part of a federally funded program, and SRHA is required to collect feedback to evaluate its impact and improve access to long-acting reversible contraception training. By opting in to complete evaluation surveys, you’re agreeing to be contacted for brief surveys about your experience. Participation is voluntary and will not affect your eligibility or application acceptance.
  • The fully funded LARC training position is non-transferable and cannot be used by or assigned to another individual.
  • Reimbursement claims for travel (if applicant needs to travel more than 100 kms to attend training), must be submitted with appropriate documentation (e.g. receipts, travel logbook) and be in line with funding limits and scope as per scholarship guidelines. Withdrawal or cancellation
  • Scholarships may be withdrawn if recipients provide false or misleading information, fail to commence or complete training or breach these terms and conditions.

Privacy

  • Applicant information will be used for assessment, reporting and evaluation and will be de-identified. Personal data will be stored securely and only reported in aggregated form. All data will be handled as per SRHA’s Privacy Policy.
